Meet Anna Olechowska

A lifelong passion for skincare, rooted in science.

I'm Anna, a UK-registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber with 18 years of experience in pharmacy and a particular passion for dermatology and skin health.

My love of skincare and its science began long before I became a pharmacist. In many ways, it started in my childhood.

Growing up with a pharmacist mother, I spent much of my childhood surrounded by the fascinating world of pharmacy. Some of my earliest memories are of making creams and ointments alongside my mum, discovering how different ingredients came together to create something with a purpose.

What started as childhood curiosity gradually developed into a genuine fascination with chemistry, formulations and the science behind how ingredients work.

Later, my own experience with acne gave that fascination a more personal meaning. I wanted to understand not just which products worked, but why they worked — what was happening within our skin, how different ingredients interacted with it, and what science could tell us about treating skin concerns effectively.

That curiosity eventually became my profession.

Science without the skincare noise

Throughout my pharmacy career, my interest in dermatology continued to grow, ultimately leading me to qualify as an Independent Prescriber with dermatology scope of practice and particular interest in acne and rosacea.

But alongside my clinical work, I've always been fascinated by the world of skincare — the ingredients, the formulations, the innovations and the science behind them.

Why I created Science of Beauty Rx

Over the years, I've seen how confusing skincare has become. With endless product launches, conflicting advice and constantly changing trends, it's increasingly difficult to distinguish genuinely effective ingredients from clever marketing.

I created Science of Beauty Rx to bring together everything I'm passionate about: pharmaceutical science, dermatology, skincare education and helping people feel more confident in their skin.

My approach is simple: evidence over hype, understanding over confusion, and skincare recommendations grounded in science rather than trends.

I believe effective skincare doesn't need to be complicated or expensive. It needs to be understood, thoughtfully chosen and tailored to our individual skin needs.

Whether I'm explaining an ingredient, reviewing a skincare routine or helping someone navigate a skin concern, my goal is always the same: to make skincare science accessible, practical and genuinely useful.

Because great skincare starts with understanding our skin.
